Through the ears
I have to agree. Men fall in love through the eyes; women fall in love through the ears. I checked with Emman if he still found me attractive. On retrospect, that's like placing a time bomb in his hands. 'Cos if he had said 'yes', the time bomb will be safely returned to me but to be used another time. If he had said 'no', well... Emman is not that dumb. haha! The reason why I asked is really simple - I needed to double check. After more than 2.5 years (not a long time, to be honest) of the same face, same body (but a lil more 'hilly', no thanks to German fats), I just wanted to make sure that my boyfriend still feels fortunate when he looks at me. I'm really realistic in that way. People do get bored of looking at their partners, 'ya know. By the way, he said, 'of course!' Convinced, I let that go. xxxSometimes, Emman surprises me with the most unexpectedly right things to say at the right time and that places a smile on my face, which can last quite a long time. I don't remember many things, but I do remember some reallyreally seemingly small things. Small and insignificant they may seem, these things help to put the 'R' back into 'romance'. It's really these small things that help to restore the faith, trust and love back into a relationship. Regular maintenance needed, can't wait till they are all gone. Then, it will be too late. And laughter. Laughter is so important, especially the score is not as high in the attractive and intriguing department. Sometimes, we laugh at each other's jokes, and each other. Sometimes, we people-watch and laugh at strangers. Recently, Emman found a new source of laughter. It's called Jeff Dunham and his freaking suitcase of terrifyingly funny but grumpy characters. Somehow, when you hear your partner laughing heartily at something or someone, you just feel happy and a smile creeps up... inside. That's good vitamin for the heart.

the new 2nd hour
Happy New Year! So, 2010 passed. I wonder, if resetting the month from December to January is such a big deal that bus drivers have to work OT, MRT has to clock extra mileage, roads have to be closed and taxpayers' money has to go up in elaborate colourful flames. This 00:00 of 2011, I was at the temple with my parents, Jas and Emman, losing count of the number of times the gong sounded. No fireworks there. Just the reverberating and solemn sound of the gong, and chanting afterwards. New Year Resolution? Never made one that I remembered to keep. Never made one that I actually kept. But, let's just say... a healthier me and the same for my bank account. And, that all Emman's wishes will be fulfilled. Yes, I'm leeching on his wishes. His next shot at making wishes... Day 2, Jan. For now, it's another nice cooling night and I'm off to dream a good little dream...
